(1996) Pusher.
(In Denmark with English subtitles).
Day to day life of a drug dealer living in Denmark, until things went haywire, when one of those deals didn't go as planned involving cops! The ending is rather arbitrary which is why audiences demanded a sequal!
The acting is pheonominal and the directing debut of Nicolas Winding Refn is well constructed, except that we've all seen this done before with the only difference is the setting which is on the raw streets of Denmark! I was going to give this film a respectable thumbs because their was no resolution, despite all the things I like about it, but because I wasn't aware about two more sequels had already been made, I'm hopingly optimistic that it'd be satisfying one. "Pusher" made a killling at the Denmark film market, who Refn never had to attend film school, with two sequals that I haven't seen yet.
2.5 out of 4.
