Review of Pusher (1996) by Dan D — 10 Mar 2012
A typical drug story. Dealer loses or dumps drugs. Dealer owes supplier lotsa money. Dealer's efforts to get money and delay retribution become increasingly desperate. There's an underlying likableness to most of these criminals working the Copenhagen underground and that (along with good dialog and assured cinematography and pacing) give Refn's first film a spark that many others with the same basic plot lack.
