Review of Punch-Drunk Love (2002) by Valentina N — 05 Nov 2012
I found the soundtrack distracting the first go-around. Too much tinkering with obscure objects to create obscure sounds. Same went for the bright white, blinding lights. Highly annoying the first time, but I could just be photo-sensitive and not know it.
But it all fell into place this go-around. The feeling of discomfort, of mania, that wasn't a coincidence, that was the entire point I think. I don't want to be Dita Von Teese anymore, I want to be Paul Thomas Anderson.
