Another great hit from Paul Thomas Anderson while also helping Adam Sandler move from stupid comedy over to drama, which Sandler succeeds at. Sandler depicts a sad businessman who falls in love with a young woman while going through problems in his life.

Sandler's acting talent really is seen, while he perfectly delves into the role of Barry, while Emily Watson wonderfully supports him. The cinematography is brilliant, as well as the editing, with this being Anderson's shortest film, Boogie Nights was over 150 minutes and Magnolia was close to 3 hours.

The film moves a perfect pace, while shifting from comedy and drama with perfect ease.
