Review of Prowl (2010) by Kyle L — 12 May 2014
Prowl is a superb Horror film that delivers loads of goodies that will thrill hardcore fans and it is also one of the best After Dark Originals since Husk and Seconds Apart. Plus this is also one of the best vampire Horror films since 30 Days Of Night.
Prowl is about a young girl name Amber who dreams of escaping her small town existence and persuades her friends in going to the big city with her friends. When their car breaks down she and her friends seek help from a local truck driver name Bernard who agrees to give them a lift to the city.
But soon the group learns that Bernard instead takes them to an empty slaughterhouse that is full of vampires and Amber and her friends must find a way out before they become the next food for the blood thirsty vampires.
To be honest I love this movie a lot and I'm serious about it because this movie has everything that Horror fans have been looking for and what they've always wanted and it will really thrill hardcore Horror fans or fans of vampire Horror flicks.
One of the great things about Prowl is that the whole film is extremely suspenceful, thrilling and very intense at the same time and the whole film is full of scares and intense sequences that are extremely thrilling and nerve racking(The first attack and the intense finale).
The other things I like about this film is that the movie has a creepy and intense soundtrack from composer Theo Green and I love the way he compose the soundtrack for this film which gives the movie an eerie feeling plus I love the warehouse setting it is seriously perfect for this kind of movie.
The other things that's great about Prowl is that the movie's vampires are super scary because the vampires are fast and very quick in this film even though the movie's shaky cam distracts the whole movie from seeing the vampires faces they are still scary and I love the atmosphere of this film and there are loads of atmospheric and eerie shots throughout the later on half of the film and last but not least the last thing I like about Prowl is that the movie is full of gore and there are loads kills that are graphic, violent and super bloody to watch and some of them are so hardcore to watch in the movie(Loads of neck ripping sequences, The crazy decapitation scene and the brutal but sick amputation sequence)and I so love the gore in this film a lot.
Now the acting is superb in this film all of the casts did a very good job with their performances in the film even the lead actress did an amazing job with her performance in the film the same can be said to the lead antagonist in the movie who delivers a creepy performance throughout the whole film.
Director Patrick Syversen did a magnificent job with his work on this movie and he managed to create a strong, thrilling yet suspenceful vampire Horror film that will really thrill Horror fans from around the world.
Overall Prowl is a strong, suspenceful yet entertaining Horror film that delivers loads of goodies and thrills that will keep Hardcore Horror fans from watching over and over again. This movie gets a 10/10.
Vampire fans should really give this a try for those who want to see a real vampire Horror film.
