Review of Prospero's Books (1991) by Alan H — 25 Jun 2007
Peter Greenaway has some merit as a director but this attempt to mix the Tempest with visual art . . . Intricate, and sometimes beautiful and sometimes disturbing images, but it will not help you understand the play and is nearly like watching a screensaver for two hours (I mean that literally).
Watch "Pillow Book" or "The Cook, the Thief..." instead.
