Review of Prospero's Books (1991) by Rahul R — 28 May 2009
I could listen to John Gielgud speak all day. Which is great, because Gielgud does a lot of speaking (i.e. almost all the lines) in this film. Greenaway's obsessive deconstruction of Shakespeare's "The Tempest" is among the greatest film adaptations of the Bard's work (along with Chimes at Midnight, also with Sir John).
