Today I was reminded again why I do my little "Oscar quest" every year. It has led me to some really great movies over the years that I would have missed otherwise, and today was no exception.
PROMISED LAND was one of the most thought provoking movies I have seen in a long time. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, so I won't go into the plot (I went into it completely blind myself) but it definitely posed some hard questions about the world we live in and what it costs us to continue to live the way we do.
I highly recommend it.
