Review of Promised Land (2012) by Walter T — 05 Jan 2013
Saw it today. It was better than what the critics say. It shows a pretty realistic portrayal of the desperation of poor farmers and a smart lease salesman, Steve Butler, who convinces many to sell their land for the promise of fracking.
But in the end, not everything seems what they are and there are some surprise twists which makes the movie less about fracking and more about corporate ethics. Very good acting and a beautiful location in western PA.
