Review of Promised Land (2012) by Kenneth Joyce G — 05 Jul 2013
Promised Land features a classic themed conflict between a farmer, and his debt. A conflict I believe is far too overlooked in todays modern age. The sales pitch thrown by the company "Global," portrayed in the film, is merely a catalyst in this tale of the farmlands.
This movie may have some average ratings because it doesn't really bring anything new to the table; but that's the whole point. Either you let us buy your farm, or we come back to buy your farm for nothing.
An older, classical conflict, but by God, it is a more bitter sweet one. In our current decade, this is very appropriate. Normally I rate a movie out of four, and I would give this film a four, but I suppose your equivalent is a five, out of five.
