Well acted, written, and directed. Perhaps Hugh Jackman's best performance. But to what end? Pitch black and disturbing, the film never really shows consequences to the actions of the main characters, thus rendering the film's central conceit - "What would you do?" - irrelevant.
A movie that is mostly just endured.
