Review of Prisoners (2013) by Ameen K — 02 May 2015
Probably the best movie of 2013. I'm just gonna put that out there before I begin my review. This movie is perfect. It is perfect. Prisoners is about two family friends having a get together when their girls both go missing. This film is so realistically scary and very real. It truly captures how people would act when put under pressure. Everyone in this movie is amazing. Not a single performance that I thought could've been better. The movie has a very dark and creepy vibe throughout the whole movie and keeps you guessing throughout. The twist is very satisfying and it makes sense. This movie has a great cast and a great script. Prisoners is probably the best movie of 2013. I had only one problem with the movie. The ending. At first, when the ending came, it felt rushed and abrupt, it didn't make sense. After the movie was done, it had me thinking a while. After a while of thinking, it clicked. The ending isn't a big problem but it felt like the movie just ended. You have to think for a while to really find the true meaning of the ending. Other than that, this is a PERFECT film that I highly encourage you to check this one out in theaters.
Prisoners: 5/5 stars.
