Review of Prince of Darkness (1987) by Alex R — 11 Sep 2013
When a team of science students are tapped by their professor to examine an ancient canister uncovered in the basement of a local church, its contents turn out to be pure, liquified evil -- Satan, the Prince of Darkness, himself.
Throw in Satan's plot to bring his father, the Anti-God, to earth, a bit of gore, and some eerie dream messages from the future, and you have one of John Carpenter's more underrated horror flicks.
The film's concepts are better than the execution, probably due to the production's low budget.
