Review of Pride and Glory (2008) by France R — 06 Sep 2009
Good ensemble, but the story was a collection of bits that didn't hang together well, from the odd decision to begin with a rather long scene of a football game highlighting Jimmy's (Colin Farrell) athletic prowess to a series of bloody encounters, with a reliance on some mysterious scandal to hook the audience (Ray--Ed Norton-- Jimmy's brother-in-law, had to help cover it up for the family), and moments where characters spelled out the moral of the story: cops becoming what they're supposed to hate.
A side note: it's curious that the houseboat has become a fixture in movies with the lone, hurting protagonist.
