Review of Pride and Glory (2008) by Casey B — 16 Sep 2012
Contrary to the dreadful ratings that the movie has amassed, I somehow felt satisfied and happy with the movie. Even though the movie plot is clichéd and possesses very less originality, a tremendous cast of brilliant actors made this movie very watchable. Ray Tierney and Francis Tierney Jr. come from a family with a generation of cops. When Francis's unit is murdered, investigations point to corruption within the unit including his brother-in-law Jimmy Egan thus raising tensions within the family.
A more family drama as compared to a cop drama, the movie has a definite amount of depression associated with it. One of the great things about the movie is the music, which is exceptional and fuses completely with the depressing part.
One of the highlights for me was the ending. Beautiful. It easily goes on my list of best endings.
