Review of Pride and Glory (2008) by Stefan P — 10 May 2009
I have done the same mistake a few times before. Thinking that a number of skilful actors wouldn't say yes to an awful script, that is. This story is severely flawed with many things that doesn't make sense at all.
It wasn't interesting to begin with, and all the unrealistic events didn't really make me care more about it, if I put it that way. All this movie has is terrific acting and some good tunes, but that's not nearly enough to make it worth watching.
One would think that the actors should be able to get better roles than this. Especially Norton, who has flawless performances in masterpieces like Fight Club and American History X in his résumé. If you want something similar to "Pride and Glory", but watchable, then avoid "Street Kings", and go see "Training Day".
