There were SO many times I thought it was going to go too far into schmaltz and glurge, but it never did it. The ending is as shamelessly manipulative and uplifitng as the best of Spielberg, and just as successful.
All the more stunning in that it's all true. I held firm and didn't cry, but man it was a rough final three minutes or so.
