Review of Portrait of Jennie (1948) by Anna S — 26 Jul 2007
There is a quiet unease all throughout the film, broken by moments where the artist and his muse share simple moments of happiness, leading up to the major revelation in the film. Pair the great actors in the lead roles with grande dame Ethyl Barrymore, and you have a film that is both disquieting and mesmorizingly beautiful.
