Review of Port of Call (1948) by Alex C — 26 Aug 2011
Perhaps what distinguishes Bergman from his peer is that he knows how to visualize his script into the screen. He's a wizard of words, a visionary of literacy. If the film's look falls flat, his script never is.
This film is one of his earliest works, but it contains his would-be signature for the rest of his career.
