Review of Porky's II: The Next Day (1983) by Vicky G — 26 Mar 2012
I saw this film and I think it was a bit better, story-wise, than the first film. Yes a lot of the nudity is male nudity but it "serves" the story line rather than more recent "schlock" and essentially you get a "good versus bad" story.
The "good" are the students trying to put on a play of Shakespeare (tame, considering their own antics) and the "bad" are the KKK, the teacher who objects to the play, an immoral council, and some religious people (loosely and badly based upon Christians but really more reflective of tele-evangelists like the Bakkers, and others caught up in sexual scandals).
Porky's is a part of the trouble again but there is a side plot involving the KKK attacking an actor who is of native origin and who is playing the part of Romeo (to kiss a "caucasian" Juliet).
