Review of Pompeii (2014) by Donna L — 25 Jul 2014
Ugh. A Titanic wannabe that fails on just about all aspects except the fighting. Two scenes were fun to watch: the gladiator fight scene in the large arena, and Mt. Vesuvius working hard to kill off the acting in this movie.
Pompeii wanted to be epic on the levels of Troy and Titanic, but it fails on the back story (so many little and big things wrong with the story it's not worth to write them all out), star acting, and likability.
There wasn't a single character I cared about. None. It was plain to see that Paul Anderson only cared about the visual effects and fight sequences, which I didn't think was that bad. Thank goodness for that, otherwise this a clear cut winner for the Razzies.
