I painted my bedroom when I was about 14 while my parents were on holiday. I recall standing back after the last brush stroke and realising what a mistake I'd made. My dad was mad as hell when he got home.
For those of you wondering why I'm telling you this, it's a metaphor for this movie. Pompeii is my bedroom. The actors are me. The audience is my dad. It's so bad, it's not even ironic.
Whatever were they thinking?
