Review of Pompeii (2014) by Matt H — 25 Aug 2014
Really bad ripoff of Gladiator and Spartacus, and I'm not saying that just because there's gladiator fighting (for some reason), but because the movie blatantly rips off their fight scenes - and do them with much less skill.
The structure of Titanic is also liberally taken from. Jon Snow is bland, but it's not like the script helps him at any point. His "romance" subplot was one of the worst of recent memory.
Even Jack Bauer is wasted as his character is way too over the top, and not in a fun way. Sadly, though, this still probably makes it as one of Paul W. S. Anderson's "better" movies.
