Review of Pompeii (2014) by Jake A — 28 Apr 2017
Though there is plenty not to like about this disaster film chiefly the script, the unnecessary inclusion of the sword and sandal genre (the events that led to the destruction of Pompeii are more than interesting enough), the plot surrounding the characters is pretty generic and Kiefer Sutherland really does ham it up there is also enough to like to at least make this film passable.
The rest of the cast is decent, the special effects are great, the destruction of Pompeii and the eruption Mount Vesuvius is extremely well done, it is apparently historically and scientifically accurate, I like the score and the ending is ballsy for a big budget Hollywood film.
