Detective Pikachu is a film that is good as a Pokemon licensed flick, but as a regular movie it's somewhat mediocre. Ryan Reynolds does an fair job playing as the titular character of the film, with Justice Smith playing as his human partner.
It takes an avid Pokemon fan to fully comprehend the plot to the film, hence the rating of a 6.
