Review of Point Blank (1967) by Jesse L — 18 Mar 2004
(Theatre) (2nd Boorman film).
Not quite as good as I'd hoped, it's still an interesting, edgy movie. Lee Marvin is capable as the wronged man bent on getting his money back- the lovely Angie Dickenson adds class and sexiness to every scene she's in. The direction is noteworthy, and the flashy editing is great, but visually this film hasn't dated well- it fully embraces 60's fashion and architecture, and the movie suffers from it. But thankfully, if anybody can look good in those hideous mod dresses it's Ms. Dickenson- and she does.
