Review of Point Blank (1967) by Tony P — 17 Aug 2016
Why is this film lauded after by cinephiles?
It is basically a sixties thriller more akin to a seventies episode of Colombo if I am being honest.
The lead character is Walker (Lee Marvin) who trail blazes San Francisco hell bent on revenge for $63000 and his ex.
It seems that every shadowy figure in some criminal organisation that wears suits is bumped off and the debt passed on to someone else.
Okay the cinematography and print still look pristine some 50 years on. The thriller element is nothing special though.
Marvin plays the Walker character like a man on heat!
