Review of Point Blank (1967) by Prasad P — 20 Jan 2009
I wanted to like this stylish revenge fantasy, but the style, action, and dialogue are all at once overbearing/overindulgent/melodramatic/hysterical and underwhelming/languid/lazy/boring. It's really just a mediocre bourgeois drama about adulterous and corporate betrayal poorly dressed up as a revenge action-thriller.
Watch Le Couperet, or anything by Hitchcock (especially Vertigo) or Jean-Pierre Melville (or even Sam Fuller) instead.
