Review of Point Blank (1967) by Jack Y — 27 May 2010
Interesting as a period piece to see how Marvin and Boorman combined film noir and Nouvelle Vague styles into the southern Californian setting, and for the first screen appearance of John Vernon.
Marvin is bad-ass, far more so than Mel Gibson when this film’s source material was redone as Payback, though the film will appeal more to lovers of the genre than a modern audience.
