Review of Planet of the Vampires (1965) by Phil C — 28 Sep 2007
This is one of the most beautiful looking movies you'll ever see. There are shots that make me want to hit the pause button and stare at it like a work of art. The costumes alone make this worth watching.
Unfortunately, the script and the acting leave a bit to be desired. It's probably better with the sound off, but then you'd miss the fun of the terrible dialogue. (Try deciphering the pseudo-scientific babble at the beginning, or, better yet, just try counting how many times the characters start or end a sentence with "Mark".) Everyone needs to see this one at least once, ideally as a double-bill with "Danger:Diabolik".
