Review of Pitch Black (2000) by Karl F — 21 Jan 2011
I simply adored this great horror flick. Vin Diesel in his element in my opinion. Riddick is one of the best characters I've seen in awhile. Riddick is a convicted murderer and a lawman is taking him to his new destination via a spacecraft filled with passengers.
A meteor storm kills off the main crew leaving a docking pilot to land the plane with a thunderous crash landing and only a few of the passengers, along with Riddick and the lawman. They wind up on a planet with 3 suns and nobody around they can see.
Unfortunately, they realize from an old building by settlers who are no longer around that the suns are about to be blocked out for a time and with the darkness...comes something much more frightening.
As the survivors struggle to make it to a ship that can get them off the planet, Riddick becomes their saviour. But the trek to freedom is a long and dangerous one once the creatures of the night come out to feast.
