Review of Pickpocket (1959) by Andriy D — 10 May 2010
An interesting Dostoevskian drama from Robert Bresson. Mind-boggling cinematography that alternatively glamorizes and condemns the art of pickpocketing. Camera focuses on dexterious hands of thieves and the ingenious ways to steal.
The film ends in a powerful cathartic mode.
