Review of Pickpocket (1959) by Paul P — 17 Dec 2011
The acting is stripped of all semblance of 'performance' works wonderfully. It sets up the scene of Paris where the story takes place and it perfectly sets the stage for Michel's plight. The scenes of actual pickpocketing are magnificent.
The acting in some areas is spotty but it conveys Bresson's straightforward, dead serious film very well.
