Review of Phantom Thread (2017) by Nickthecritick — 03 Nov 2021
This gorgeous love melodrama is full of visual beauty and thrilling to the point that it looks like a tribute to Ophuls and Hitchock. It is set in the 1950s but the cinematography and editing make the film look like it was also shot in the 1950s.
Paul Thomas Anderson approaches the levels of "there will bee blood" once again bordering on perfection. Beware of mushroom omelettes.
