Review of Phantom Thread (2017) by Mark P — 06 Feb 2018
Set in 1950s London. Daniel Day Lewis is Woodblock, a famous dressmaker who makes dresses for the rich and royalty. He meets a young girl who he grows attracted to and uses her as a model of his dresses.
She falls in love with him and wants to get closer to him but he is rude, obnoxious and shows autistic tendencies. He is loving one moment and has raging anger the next. Great acting performance from Daniel Day Lewis, although his character is rude and nasty.
A weird ending when she tries to poison him and he knows about it, causes you to question why??
