Review of Phantom of the Paradise (1974) by Joe A — 17 Jun 2011
As 70s nostalgia Phantom is a fun, campy example of the kind of film they don't make any more. Brian DePalma's rock n roll combination of Faust and Phantom of the Opera set in the music world is severly dated and silly and has some slow spots between the lively and colorful musical numbers but, it is veiwing it with that nostalgic point of view that helps add to the entertainment value and makes it entertaining along with a couple of beers.
