Review of Phantom of the Opera (1943) by Mark W — 19 Jun 2012
Unlike its silent predecessor, this phantom of the opera really seemed to truly lack in many ways... The over use of comical moments, lack of focus on the "phantom" and the fact he wasn't horribly disfigured were truly sore points.
Admitted, the film isn't bad and it's certainly a watch-able movie but it just wasn't as enjoyable as seeing Lon Chaney own the role!
