Review of Phantasm (1979) by Christopher P — 20 Dec 2009
Forget about the bad acting and just concentrate on this surreal story about the Tall Man, his dwarf slaves and the iconic silver sphere with the prongs and drill that floats about inside Morningside Cemetery Home.
This is a cult classic and Angus Scrimm as the Tall Man is menacing as he stalks 13 year old Mike, his brother and their friend Reggie. The only thing that's bad is the rather predictable ending, you just knew that something was about to happen.
It's good for what it is but I prefer the sequel which is much better and has a bigger budget.
