Review of Phantasm (1979) by Graham L — 20 Jul 2008
This is neither the outrageous classic of surreal 70s horror that its reputation suggest, nor the vacuous trash that its detractors have called it. It's imaginative horror, often corny and laughable, but made with enough energy and panache to keep me watching.
Avoid the sequels at all costs - that's really all you need to know.
