Review of Phantasm (1979) by Levi P — 02 May 2011

When it comes to horror, this one is pretty special. The story is extremely original, but it just needed to be fleshed out a little more, along with the characters. These factors are made up for in the visual content.

I was really impressed by one particular death scene. The special effects used were mind blowing (literally) and topped off with a fair amount of gore, especially by today's standards. They even took the effort to make the character's bladder release after they were dead, something that I haven't seen in a movie before.
