Review of Personal Effects (2009) by Maria D — 29 May 2010
This was much better than I thought it would be - although I cannot decide whether Ashton Kutcher is a great actor or a really terrible actor... Also, I get the bizarreness of the chicken-suit but think this could have been achieved in other ways, and is actually achieved in other ways with the effect of the various weddings.
It is a very moving film about grief and finding comfort and trying to move on. It is not uplifting in the slightest but rather sticks to a very real story-line of how life goes on - even after disaster it is still the mundane things that keeps life ticking along.
