Review of Peppermint (2018) by Kiana A — 08 Sep 2018
Went to see Saturday with my husband. We both loved this movie. Agree with the mostly favorable audience comments. A couple of new thoughts - first I never saw Jennifer Garner in Alias or Electra, but I first became aware of her as an Action hero in The Kingdom (2007) with Jamie Foxx.
She is killer in the final big action scene, what I thought of when I saw her in Peppermint - good knife work in both movies. Haven't seen anyone mention that film yet. Second, some complaints about plot holes, missing background, etc.
There is only so much time, and I think the movie company did excellent job setting up three more movies. Obvious first prequel begins when she escapes from the ambulance leaving court and ends with her finishing training, I guess in Europe - lots of international settings.
Second prequel is arrival in LA, getting ready, then ends with killing the three killers, ends at the Ferris Wheel. They might combine the two prequels. The obvious sequel is going after the main cartel in Mexico and/or Columbia.
They even introduced the son of the cartel head in the drug lab scene. That one starts with her getting out o the hospital at the end. It would be like Bourne, if you started with #2. I think Bourne series would be good to emulate, only quicker, and Jennifer would be great.
I vote for one a year.
