Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by Anthony V — 21 May 2012
Horror affectionados gather round. Sprinkled with deep Freudian psychology, this voyeuristic metaphor turns the viewer into a "Peeping Tom", by brilliant use of perspective, thereby creating a sympathetic bond with a deranged killer.
Not quite as "shocking" for the desensitized audience of today and not full of the cheap scares found in modern horror, but still frightening for what it says about us as a society of voyeurs.
Brilliant direction to be studied not only by fans of the horror genre, but for anyone interested in making films.
