A waking fever dream smeared in Cadmium Red, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is an incredible ride for wide-eyed kiddies as well as smirking adults who'll get some of the sexual nuances (which there are...shocker). I used to watch this movie EVERY DAY and it still surprises me with how awesome it is, impossibly imaginative and delightfully...off. While frothing with wackiness as a Pee-Wee Herman/Tim Burton coupling would inevitably be, this movie is believable and very endearing.
Fabulous, nauseating, wish it never ended.
