Review of Peacock (2005) by Jordain P — 28 Dec 2010
This psychological thriller about a man with a split personality is ultimately a mixbag. It is thrilling, it keeps your full attention on the movie the whole time and it definitely gave me the chills. Cillian Murphy is once again, amazing, his portrayal of both personalities is impressive and unnerving.
Still I had some issues with the progression of the story. I feel the innitial planning and plot had essentialy a lot of potential, but it wasn't fully excecuted as it could have been. Specially at the end, which I believe could have been way more disturbing, actually, if it had ended about 5 minutes before its real ending, it would have been amazing.
However, Peacock succeeds in keeping its audience entertained and leaving them thinking afterwards about the obscure nature of people, not to mention a haunting character that will probably follow you for a long time after you've seen the film.
OVERALL 65.
