It's not that this isn't an interesting film, it's that when it gets to the nitty gritty the film just jumps to something else.

His habitual infidelity is skimmed over until almost the very end and his heroin use seems hardly worth a mention ("I used it for 25 years but decided to give it up before I had a problem"... yeah, right).

I felt the film was guilty of turning away when it should have held up a spotlight and was thus disappointing.

The use of lyrics on the screen was annoying.
