Review of Patton (1970) by Mike L — 17 Aug 2009
One of the few movies whose images will remain with me forever. I remember my parents dropping me off at our public library around 74 to watch this on one of those tri-pod pull-up white screens. The images that Patton impressed upon me was very climatic: as the Germans strafe his headquarters in North Africa, the battle scene where the German soldier gets run over by his own tank, when he talks about his own reincarnation on a historic battlefield, and the great opening with Scott and the American flag as the backdrop.
All of this was over the top and surprisingly it fit for a over the top person. Deserving of all the awards it has won.
