Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Victor M — 25 Mar 2015
In "Paths of Glory" Kubrick show us one of the worst sides of war, when the egos of generals and his anxiety for power and glory make them to take their own men to sacrifice and then made them pay for his own mistakes.
Great performance of Kirk Douglas as Colonel Dax. The final scene where the captive German lady sings a sentimental folk song "Der true Husar" (The Faithful Hussar) and she is followed by the French soldiers humming is tender and cynical about the war at the same time.
