If it weren't for its constantly overbearing, sentimental soundtrack or its underwhelming and simplistic writing, Patch Adams could have served as the proper, uplifting perspective on health care and human relationships.
However, any serious aspect is glazed over and nearly ignored altogether, just so the viewers can move on to the overly optimistic outlook.
