Review of Passengers (2016) by Marie D — 17 Apr 2017
The movie passengers take place in the future in a starship named the Avalon. They are 4 main characters :
-James Preston nicknamed Jim by Chris Pratt.
-Aurora Lane By Jennifer Lawrence.
-Arthur the droïde barman by Michael Sheen.
-Gus mancuso the captain of the ship by Laurence Fishburne.
This american movie can be classed in the sci-fi, adventure and romance genre and I recamand it from the teenagers or adults because he's rating PG-13. It was directed by Morten Tyldum and scripted by Jon Spaihts with the colaboration of the production Columbia pictures. It last 1h56 and was release the 21st of december in 2016 and is an adaptation of the short story "The Frozen Journey" of Philip K. Dick. The soundtrack was did by Thomas Nowman in an album named PASSENGERS of 26 titles.
The movie contain a lot of special effects which are not so good at all, a little makeup for Arthur when he's hurting himself and the costumes are very good little the astonaut's outfit. Passenger wan 2 oscars:
-one for the best settings.
-an other for the best soundtrack.
This is the story of a man named Jim who was woke up early ( 90 years too soon ) accidentaly, and who need to live alone on this starship, which was going on a new planet, Homestead II, because at this time the Earth was too destroy and somme people decided to go away and started a new better life in a new place.
I think this film was a good one because we're quickly in the story, the emotions of the characters are well transmitted. But the special effects are not really realistic sometimes and this is sad because it is important for the consistency of the movie. The story line is simple in fact but stirring and there are suspence and anguish sometimes. The movie mix a lot of emotions because you can be sad by the romance part and surprised just after. This mix is interesting and pleasant.
I recommanded you this movie because it's easily visible in family or this friends.
I hope the review is helping you.
